Glen and I are finally here after 24+ hours of tiring, but uneventful (thankfully) traveling. Our flight had us transfer through Zurich and I had forgotten how much I love Switzerland. The crew on the Swiss flight were so great and it's very impressive to see them switch back and forth between 3 languages so handily. We were off our huge flight and into our correct terminal to connect with Athens in less than 15 minutes. Craziness. Their travel system is amazing. We enjoyed window shopping at the likes of Cartier, Bulgari, and Sprungli chocolates at 6am while we waited for our connection.
Ok my love of all things Swiss aside, it was pretty cool to be on a flight I would say 2/3rds full of runners, including several elites. They are truly amazing and I'm disappointed that all I'll get to see of them on Sunday is their dust at the starting line! Oh well, hopefully I'll catch the first few finishers on video after the race. I consider myself extremely privileged to be able to run the same event as these incredible athletes.
Ok, off to get the race kits!!! So exciting to finally be here!
